Welcome to the submission site for the 2019 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom. The nomination period is now open.  The nomination portal will remain open until 27 June 2018.

After a successful inaugural year in the United Kingdom that saw nominations from 67 universities and research institutions, the Blavatnik Family Foundation and the New York Academy of Sciences are delighted to embark on the second year of the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom.  These awards celebrate the past accomplishments and future potential of young faculty researchers working in three disciplinary categories of science and engineering: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemistry.  Every year, one nominee in each category will be named a Blavatnik Awards in the UK Laureate and awarded US$100,000 in unrestricted funds, with two Blavatnik Awards in the UK Finalists in each category both receiving US$30,000.

Institutional nominations must be submitted by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, or the Vice-Chancellor’s official designee (official designees must notify BlavatnikAwardsUK@nyas.org of the delegation of responsibilities). Each institution may nominate up to three individuals, one for each disciplinary category (Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemistry).  The Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom welcomes nominations from all underrepresented groups in science and engineering.  Self-nominations are not permitted.

Please be sure to read the guidelines page in full, as some of these guidelines have changed from the 2018 Awards.

If you have any questions or experience technical difficulties, please contact the Blavatnik Awards team at BlavatnikAwardsUK@nyas.org or +1-212-298-8608 (Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM ET).
